Since 2015 the University of Cagliari (UniCa) promoted the project UniCa4Refugees

•Cultural-linguistic mediation service;

•Make easier the procedures to recognize access qualifications to university studies;

•Italian language courses (with also linguistic tandems);

•Assigning the Erasmus+ Online Linguistic Support – OLS licences, also for other European languages;

•Tuition fees waiving;

•Support for text books acquisition;

•Possibility to register for single courses/modules with fee waiving;

•Possibility to carry out vocational traineeships at the university facilities.

University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE 3.0

The project University Corridors for Refugees UNI-CO-RE aims to increase opportunities for refugees currently residing in Ethiopia to continue their higher education in Italy. It is promoted by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli and other partners, together with 24 Italian Universities.

After the successful experience of UNICORE 2.0, supported by the University of Cagliari together with other by 10 Italian universities, by which in 2020/2021 3 students were selected to study in a Master Programme at the University of Cagliari, now the third edition UNICORE 3.0 is launched to select other two students.

The selected students will be exempted from tuition fees and will receive financial support for plane tickets and Visa-related expenses, and a study grant to help them during their stay in Italy.
