- Knowledge and understanding:
knowledge of the basic concepts of cinematographic language in a theoretical-methodological and, in some cases, practical perspective. Framing of problems and concepts in the context of elaboration and fruition in order to grasp the nuances deriving from historical evolution.

- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
ability to identify the characteristics of the cinematographic work, recognizing its peculiar characteristics and comparing them with other products.

- Autonomy of judgment:
ability to express conscious considerations and evaluations, and to the extent possible autonomously critical, on the problems faced.

- Communication skills:
ability to develop concepts in a clear and articulated way.

- Learning ability:
acquisition of skills in a dynamic and problematic sense with the ability to adapt knowledge to the changed operating conditions in which the student will find himself in the workplace.

Prerequisites

A basic knowledge of contemporary history (from the early twentieth century to the present day) and the mastery of the humanistic culture dealt with in the programs of the schools of different levels and levels previously attended are advisable.

Teaching Methods

The teaching will be delivered simultaneously both face to face and online, thus outlining a mixed teaching that can be enjoyed in the university classrooms but at the same time also at a distance.
According to the directives laid down by the University, each student, at the beginning of the semester, can opt, with a binding choice, for face-to-face or remote teaching. Depending on the availability of the classrooms and the number of students who will opt for the face-to-face mode, shifts may be provided for effective access to the classroom.

The activity will be developed through lectures and with the use of instruments and multimedia material.
In-depth seminar and workshop activities may be agreed.

Verification of learning

In order to obtain the required credits, the student must take an oral exam.

voting criteria:
- expressive mastery, also with reference to the metalanguage of a specific discipline;
- ability to frame the topic also in a chronological sense;
- ability to critically elaborate concepts;
- use of the appropriate and sector vocabulary.
