Objectives
The aims of the course have been defined in relation to the Dublin Ddescriptors in the following way.
Knowledge and understanding:
Students will have to acquire knowledge and understanding on the issues of the relationship between design and construction, within the integrated concept of the building process and its sustainability;
Applying knowledge and understanding:
Students will have to be able to apply the knowledge and understanding skills acquired by demonstrating a professional approach to the management of the various phases of the building process;
Making judgments:
Students will have to be able to develop reflections on the topics of the course and to make autonomous judgments.
Communication skills:
Students will have to be able to communicate, with an appropriate language, their reflections, conclusions and knowledge on the topics of the course to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors.
Learning skills:
Students will have to develop the necessary skills to undertake subsequent in-depth studies on the topics of the course with a high degree of autonomy.
Prerequisites
The course investigates the stages of the building process that are upstream and downstream of the final project. So you need to know:
• the dynamics that lead to the formation of the final project and its contents;
• the principles of Technical Architecture.
Contents
Starting from the objectives, the topics covered by the course are listed below in a schematic and complete manner.
- Public procurement rules,
- European quality standard,
- Introduction to project management,
- BIM methodology and tools,
- overview of the basic functionalities of the BIM software
Autodesk Revit.
Teaching Methods
Lectures and workshops represent the key tools of the course. They alternate in order to satisfy all the needs of the training activity.
Lectures in the classroom will be used for the acquisition of theoretical and methodological knowledge through a model-based learning style.
According to the different phases and the different contents, the lectures will be replaced by a more interactive teaching method, workshops, in which the teacher and the tutor act as facilitators of the comparison and discussions with and between the participants.
30 hours of lecture;
20 hours of workshop.
Verification of learning
At the end of the exercises, the students will have to present a group work on the design of a building with BIM techniques.
The final exam consists of an oral discussion on course topics.
