Objectives
The course aims to train the young designer through a practical design experience assisted by teachers and the discussion of the main themes characterizing contemporary architectural culture. The knowledge of the project tools and its representation will be transmitted and the ability to read and understand architectural styles and construction procedures will be stimulated.
Prerequisites
It is essential to have attended and passed the design workshops of the previous year. It is important to deepen one's knowledge of specialized publications on architecture (books, magazines and dedicated blog and websites).
Contents
The course consists in workshop design activity with the support of the professor and his tutors. The design activity is accompanied by the presentation of technical and theoretical content through lectures and seminars that generally take place in the first hour, leaving the remaining time to work in groups. At the conclusion of the various project phases, open collegial criticisms are foreseen.
Teaching Methods
The course favors practical project activity and dedicates the greatest number of hours to the latter. The support of the teachers takes place through punctual reviews and collegial criticisms. Communications, lectures and seminars will take up about 1/5 of the number of hours available.
Verification of learning
The final evaluation of the work is based on the documents produced at the end of the course and during the intermediate phases. Together with the quality of the project, is also considered the expertise and persuasiveness of its representation. Oral argumentation skills will also be assessed during the presentation of the papers.
