Objectives

The educational objectives of the course of water supply and sewers systems are defined consistently with those reported in CdS form and more in detail can be described as follows:
Knowledge and understanding: the student at the end of the course will have knowledge of topics related to the civil aqueducts and sewage systems
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to understand and interpret the water demand and the constraints given by local environment.
Autonomy Of judgment: the acquired knowledge, in theory and labs, allow the student to properly design an aqueduct and sewer, and to understand projects made by other professionals.
Communicative Skill: the student will acquire the ability to communicate, express and argue about the technical aspects of the aqueducts and sewers so as to be able to interface with other colleagues or policy makers.

Ability of learning: the student will learn methods and tools such as cost-benefit analysis, design for fixed return time, the use of specialized design support software.

Teaching Methods

Main course: 60 hours of lectures
Laboratory: 40 hours of individual activity assisted by the teacher.
Up to the end of the COVID emergency, classes will be hybrid

Verification of learning

The course is integrated, so the evaluation is unique for course and workshop.
For the achievement of credits the student needs to mature before those of the laboratory.
Laboratory: compulsory attendance. Some meetings involve the exposure of practical material, other numerical exercises or graphics, with elaborate to produce and deliver within the next few weeks, others may provide technical visits. Overcoming of the laboratory is given by the active participation to classes / meetings and the production, even in groups of up to 5 students, of numerical exercises and graphics. The delivery of all exercises, in addition to frequency, produce laboratory credits. All exercises must be completed by June 15. After that date, the student can not attest to the frequency and the credits of the laboratory for the current year.
Course: written and oral exam with open questions related to the program carried out.
The grade obtained for the integrated course will be the average between the grade obtained at written and oral exams.
Up to the end of COVID emergency the exam is oral.
