Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the fundamental of computer science and main application to biomedical science.
The student will learn to use basic software and more advanced tool (database and web-based applications).
Prerequisites
Basic mathematic knowledge and English are required.

• Signal and image processing basics;
• Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence;
Teaching Methods
The course is organized as lectures (32 hours) and exercises (24 hours).
Students will be involved in small research projects.
Verification of learning
The final exam consists on a written test made up of a minimum of five questions written in Italian, on all the topics related to the course program. A partial score is associated to each question and the final score, computed as the sum of partial scores, leads to a range between 0 and 33. The following rules hold:
21-33 The student can confirm the score achieved and the exam result can be saved.
16-20 A further oral exam is necessary to reach a score equal or more than the minimum required (18).
0-15 The studend did not pass the exam.
