Knowledge and understanding:
Knowledge of literary criticism necessary to interpret the specicity of Latin American literary works.
Ability to recognize sociological and historical-cultural phenomena related to the literary texts of the colonial and modern times.
Knowledge of the canon category and the divergence of canon in the Latin American field.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
Ability to analyze a literary text and to identify its peculiarities in relation to European culture in Latin America.
Ability to produce a text with a critical approach to the themes discussed in the course.
Ability to use the knowledge gained in the approach to intercultural experiences.
Ability to familiarize with texts and oral production in Spanish in its main American variants.
From the point of view of the autonomy of judgment:
ability to orient itself in the literary and cultural history of Latin America and to make critical choices based on their study and training interests and possible future thesis or research works.
Knowledge of European literary movements,
Knowledge of the general features of Spanish literature
Ability to understand written texts and oral production in Spanish.
Oral cultures and their clash with writing.
Western categories and indigenous categories.
Syncretic and transcultural culture.
Latin American literary movements.
Concept of heterogeneous literature.
The real maravilloso.
The texts that will be analyzed during the course will be in Spanish, the frontal lessons in Italian. Internal seminars will be held and audio-visual material will be used.
Verification of learning
At the end of the course, evaluation of the ability to interpret the texts, grasp the cultural partner context and apply the critical materials recommended will be done through an oral interview.
