Objectives

- Analysis of communicative processes;
- Analysis of interference between languages;
- Knowledge of learning-teaching processes of foreign languages and the importance of translation;
- Knowledge of theories concerning the valencies and functions of the language;
- Knowledge of translational problems in diachronic from antiquity to contemporary times;
- Knowledge of the various stages and approaches related to translation in the light of cultural evolution;
- Proper use of analytical methods and terminology appropriate to the field of study.

Prerequisites

- Posses of basic competence in General Linguistics.

Contents

- History of translation: the most important epochs and issues.
- Different linguistic and comparative linguistic analysis plans;
- Significance: semantic and pragmatic, enunciative perspective.
- Meaning and culture.
- Language interference; Transfert and interlanguage; Linguistic translational difficulties.

Teaching Methods

- Frontal lessons.
- Collection of student comments and questions on various theoretical and practical points.

Verification of learning

- Final exam written on open questions, lasting 2 hours.
- Posibility to present the analysis of a translated text.

The course is part of the disciplinary science disciplines of the Didactics of Modern Languages, initially we will stress on the difference between language and "parole", on the difference between language teaching and speech analysis and the importance of the couple language-culture, on the importance of the communicative perspective, the one that generates Translation difficulties.
