At the end of the year, students must acquire a level of competence for B2 / B2 + QCER.
In addition, the programming proposes globally to improve the ability to study and analyze a basic text and start the student to practice the summary (résumé).
An entry level equal to B1 / B1 + of the QCER is required.
In addition, you will require a steady and constant frequency from the student for the tutor exercises.
Linguistics: Starting from arguments concerning the French language (scientific texts, dissertation texts, normative texts), the student will propose the collection of material using the network, the creation of a bibliography relevant to the subject, the re-elaboration of the texts chosen to Starting from the practices of the résumé and writing a French-language text (up to 4/5 folders) on the chosen topic. The work will be carried out in groups of 2 or 3 students. The product will be screened throughout the class by sharing via Dropbox, the teacher will be the moderator of the entire class and the different groups. All this will allow a peer-to-peer evaluation of data reproduction and writing skills. In addition, the course aims to provide the student, from the first lesson, with the tools for text analysis and definition of the entire textual apparatus using the linguistics of corpora and the use of online lexicon material, including databases .
PE: Written understanding and production of résumé. Oral synthesis and production activities. Lexicon. Grammar (see annex).
Personal work (compulsory): Individual and free preparation, through personal research on the Internet or various magazines, for the support of the oral examination (see Evaluation Methods at the end of the year), on the following three themes: homme / femme parité, Social intégration, the etiam and the construction of the identity.
Verification of learning
Introduction of monitored frequency
With the introduction of the monitored exercise frequency (foreign language co-ordination, July 7, 2015), the student will have to provide at least 70% of attendance to the tutor exercises. This frequency will be monitored by signing the student at the end of the tutorial.
Evaluation during the year:
Contrôles continus: Contrôles continus: two a year - in December and in the week before Easter. CCs will be required to test the skills and knowledge acquired by the student during the semester and the work done in class and individually. CCs will last about an hour and will essentially focus on grammar and lexical knowledge. The student is required to support both CCs. The good outcome of at least one of the two contrôles plus 70% of attendance entitles the student to take part in the writing for the part of the lexical and grammatical knowledge.
Examen blanc: one towards the end of the second half. This is simulation of the final exam. It serves to test the student for the partial test. EB's support does not give access to any bonus to the student. The EB will have a lifetime equal to the lifespan of a normal PPS.
Assessment Methods at the End of Year (Exams):
The written partial test (PPS) will comprise the following parts: a. Result = 1/4 of a B2 / B2 + level text; b. Compétence lexicale: Exercise with search for synonyms of terms contained in the text and definition to be provided for terms and / or expressions contained in the text.
The oral examination will consist of an oral résumé / commentaire in the presence of the teacher and the CEL. The text you work on will be given 10 minutes before the exam is held and will focus on a topic between the three proposals at the beginning of the year. With such a test, the ability to understand and synthesize the student's oral will be tested. The student will be asked to read a part of the text.
The French language knowledge of the program established by the course teacher will be tested in the following ways:
Students attending French language lab activities:
60% of the questions will relate to the group activities the student has done in the laboratory or individually: bibliography creation techniques, methodologies and strategies, textual and statistical data collection, textual analysis, summary, (auto) final product evaluation.
40% of the questions will be on 1 text on the list (see Texts adopted). In the absence of the text of the study, the student will not be admitted to the oral examination.
Students not attending the French language lab activities:
- 100% questions will cover 3 texts on the list (see Texts adopted). In the absence of study texts, the student will not be admitted to the oral examination.
