Course Curriculum CFU Length(h)


Students must acquire a knowledge of French level B1 of the QCR.

In addition, 1 year programming is globally proposed to improve:
The pronunciation;
Oral comprehension;
Written understanding;
Written production;
The lexical and grammatical skills.


An entry level equal to A2 level of QCER is required.
In addition, you will require a steady and constant frequency from the student for the tutor exercises.


The contents of the program are as follows:

Oral and written understanding of the adopted text or various documents.
Oral production and writing from the adopted text or from various documents.
Grammar (see Annex A).
Other laboratory activities.

Mandatory work
Individual and free preparation, through personal research on the Internet or various magazines, about the following three themes to be presented in the form of dialogue with a colleague on the oral test day: Les nouvelles technologies, Les jeunes en France, L'environnement.

Teaching Methods

Exercises will feature laboratory activities for listening and oral production; Other activities in the classroom for written understanding and the development of lexical and grammar skills. The phonetic course will be held in the classroom. At a first introduction to the phonetic and phonological aspects of the language, they will be able to read and analyze the texts in their original language.

Verification of learning

Introduction of monitored frequency
With the introduction of the monitored exercise frequency (foreign language co-ordination, July 7, 2015), the student will have to provide at least 70% of attendance to the tutor exercises.
This frequency will be monitored by signing the student at the end of the tutorial.

Evaluation during the year:
Contrôles continus: Contrôles continus: two a year - in December and in the week before Easter. CCs will be required to test the skills and knowledge acquired by the student during the semester and the work done in class and individually. CCs will last about an hour and will essentially focus on grammar and lexical knowledge. The student is required to support both CCs. The good outcome of at least one of the two contrôles plus 70% of attendance entitles the student to take part in the writing for the part of the lexical and grammatical knowledge.
Examen blanc: one towards the end of the second half. This is simulation of the final exam. It serves to test the student for the partial test. EB's support does not give access to any bonus to the student. The EB will have a lifetime equal to the lifespan of a normal PPS.

Evaluation Methodologies at the End of Year (Exams)
The written partial test (PPS duration 2h30) will comprise the following parts:
Production écrite (PE) with text length of 160-180 words. A text will be proposed at the beginning of the test - on a theme related to B1 - which will be a starting point for the PE. Grammar and Linguistic Exercises (GL) level B1.

The oral examination will comprise the following parts:
CO that will be backed up on the day of writing.
Dialogue / discussion on two topics (in the number of three) at the beginning of the year (see OBLIGATION PERSONAL WORK). The collaborator, who will act as moderator, will propose one of the three themes on which students will have to work independently throughout the year - through research and consultation of any kind of material. The expressive capacity of the student will be assessed according to the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Languages
