Knowledge and understanding
The student must have:
adequate knowledge and linguistic-communicative competence (level B1 of the CEFR), oral and written, and metalinguistics in French, in particular in the field of phonetics / phonology and morphology;
solid knowledge of French culture;
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The student must be able to:
apply their knowledge of the French language in oral and written production and comprehension;
knowing how to apply the theoretical tools for the recognition of phonetic / phonological and morphological specificities of the French language;
being able to carry out analysis and synthesis of linguistic problems;
carry out analysis and synthesis of linguistic problems, especially in the field of interlingual contact;
identify and solve problems related to language exchange.
Autonomy of judgment
The student must have the ability to:
to interpret linguistic phenomena and historical and cultural manifestations of the French language and culture with autonomy of judgment, evaluating their scope and impact in its various dimensions.
independently analyze different text types, and identify their genre, conventions, style, rhetorical structure and communication strategies. The autonomy of judgment is checked during the exam interviews and during the process of preparing the final exam.
to orient oneself autonomously in the linguistic-philological and historical-cultural context of intercultural mediation, in relation to the French language.
The student must:
have achieved communication skills in terms of oral and written presentation in French.
be able to interact, either in the role of mediator, or in situations that require linguistic-cultural competence in the French context.
The student must have acquired the cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies to allow him to continue the study of the French language independently.
The French Language 1 course is preparatory to French Language 2.
It is essential that the student has - at the beginning of the teaching activities - a starting level equal to A2 of the CEFR. The same starting level is required for students not attending educational activities.
The student in possession of a foreign DELF / DALF certification of level B1 or higher than the latter will benefit from advantages (as required by the didactic regulations within the French language sector and published on the personal pages of the teachers, as well as on the sector blog).
In particular, the student who presents an international certification of knowledge of the language (DELF, DALF), corresponding to the required exit level, is exempted from the two parts of grammar and vocabulary. In this way the certification score is canceled by the exemption of the two aforementioned parts. On the other hand, the student must necessarily take the production écrite test of the partial written test on the scheduled dates.
The starting mark for access to the oral test will therefore consist of the mark obtained in the EP, provided that the vote of the EP is not less than 18/30. The positive outcome of this part of the written exam will give access to the oral exam with the teacher.
Only students who present a certification with a score equal to or greater than 75/100 are admitted to the exemption mode.
Students in possession of these certifications are required to present them to the teachers in two original copies with the indication of the registration number and the name of the course they are enrolled in no later than April 30 of each year. After this deadline, the student is not entitled to take advantage of the certification.
The certification can be presented only and exclusively in the first year of enrollment in the course. Certifications sustained after the first year of enrollment are not permitted.
The student in possession of the certification is free to use it to be exempted from the two parts of the partial written test, grammar and vocabulary, with the support of the PE, or he can choose not to take advantage of the certification, taking the entire written test according to the procedures provided. . Once the choice has been made not to use the certification, even in the event of a negative test result, the student will no longer be able to submit it.
At the beginning of the year, students will be divided into two lectorate groups followed by two mother tongue CELs. For the subdivisions, the student must wait for indications published on the teacher's personal page and on the sector blog.
The course is divided into two main parts:
exercises with mother tongue CEL for 130 hours;
French linguistics lessons with the lecturer equal to 20 hours.
The exercises with mother tongue CELs will be modulated as follows:
65% of the total number of hours (equal to 85 hours) in activities of:
oral and written comprehension from the adopted text or from various documents;
oral and written production activities from the adopted text or from various documents;
35% of the total number of hours (equal to 45 hours for 2 hours per week over the entire academic year) in laboratory activities with exercises on audio documents.

The lectorate's activities will be given in the form of exercises through the use of the manual for adoption and living documents provided by the CEL. The reading activities will take place in French.
Linguistics lessons will be held in French.
To meet specific educational needs related to the epidemiological situation, there is the possibility of live streaming lessons or recordings of the same available online. Furthermore, the exercises can be carried out through forms of remote interaction with the available IT supports.

Written tests can be replaced by different verification methods, such as individual or group work (term papers), oral interviews, remote written tests using computer aids (Moodle, Teams, etc.), or completely eliminated in the case of intermediate tests.
For the French linguistics course
The student can choose from the following texts. For manuals, chapters and pages subject to study for the final exam are indicated. Failure to present one of these texts will result in non-admission to the oral exam.
The list is not exhaustive. Therefore, during the lessons, the teacher can provide further titles of books, chapters or magazine articles.
