Objectives

Identify theories, models, approaches, and methods of applied cognitive research used in the study of cognitive processes of the mind and their applications to real-world situations; representation of concepts and categories; semantic networks. Structure and processes of memory; Mental imagery: mental manipulation of analog representations. The techniques of visualization and mental imagery in different clinical contexts. The psychology of deductive and inductive thinking and reasoning. Intelligence and problem solving: theories and techniques for assessing intelligent behavior. Cognitive styles of thinking. Judgment: risk perception and decision making in various contexts, economic, medical, legal; misunderstandings and cognitive errors in communication. Acquisition of skills and competencies.
