KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: the student must demonstrate knowledge of the main pathological conditions that can affect the cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as the related care procedures.
APPLICATION SKILLS: the student must be able to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired to recognize and distinguish the different pathologies of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as be able to identify the suitable type of nursing approach.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: the student will be able to interpret the anamnestic and instrumental data to formulate a judgment in relation to the pathologies of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, insofar as they are of nursing relevance.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: the student will be able to explain, to the extent of nursing competence, the pathophysiological process and the outcome of diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions in the field of cardiovascular and nervous system diseases.
LEARNING SKILLS: the student will learn to acquire new information and to implement their cultural background in a critical way through the consultation and critical interpretation of recent scientific literature.
Learning neurological exam. Management of the patient suffering from neurological diseases. Learning of the rudiments of neurological diagnostic methods.
Learning of the fundamental elements of the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis, of ischemic heart disease, of the valvulopathic patient and of the multi-parametric evaluation of the heart failure patient. Management of the patient suffering from cardiac infectious and inflammatory diseases. Learning the basics of cardiovascular diagnostic methods.

Acquire KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS related to the NURSING ASSISTANCE PROCESSES to the PERSON with needs related to clinical assistance problems of a special nature: Cardiology and Neurology

- SPECIFIC NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES:
Cerebrovascular diseases (cerebral ischemia, intraparenchymal hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage).
Inflammatory diseases (Multiple sclerosis)
Dementias (especially Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia).
Degenerative diseases: Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, hereditary ataxias (general), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Nursing applied to Specialized Medicine
The student at the end of the course must be able to:
Know, detect and interpret the main signs and symptoms related to cardiac and neurological pathology, to properly plan personalized assistance;
describe the main diagnostic-therapeutic procedures to be implemented in assisted persons with clinical-specialist Cardiological and Neurological alterations;
plan and implement specific nursing care interventions, towards patients affected by clinical alterations, related to the main Cardiological and Neurological diseases.
Describe the main points of a discharge program, aimed at therapeutic continuity and the adoption of correct behaviors for the prevention of complications;
know and be able to detect the clinical-assistance implications in the administration and management of the main drugs used in the cardiological and neurological patient;
Methods and techniques of didactic interaction in the presence of the teacher
Dialogue in the classroom solicited by the teacher
Review and references to normal and pathological conditions.
Combination of frontal and interactive teaching with the use of IT tools and different supports (video-projections and blackboard)
At the end of the course, but also of the single lesson, an adequate period of time is provided for the sedimentation of the acquired information, the management of doubts and concerns.
Methods and techniques of distance didactic interaction

Interaction between the contents: Video and pdf of the lessons on the moodle platform or other sites indicated by the teachers
Verification of learning
The number of exams is defined in accordance with the Faculty regulations. Extra exams for out-of-course students may be requested from the teacher for justified reasons. The integrated course includes a joint test on the three modules of the course. During the test, questions will be asked to assess the candidate's ability to express himself correctly in relation to the subject, his ability to explain the concepts presented and to apply his knowledge. The final mark will be the weighted average of the results obtained in the three modules. The evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths.
Quality of knowledge, skills, competencies possessed and/or manifested:
a) appropriateness, correctness, and congruence of knowledge
b) appropriateness, correctness, and congruence of skills
c) appropriateness, correctness, and congruence of skills
a) Expressive capacity;
b) Appropriate use of the specific language of the discipline;
c) Logical skills and consequentiality in the connection of contents;
e) Ability to connect different topics by finding common points and establishing a coherent general design, taking care of the structure, organization, and logical connections of the expository discourse;
f) Ability to synthesize.
The judgment can be:
a) Sufficient (from 18 to 20/30)
The candidate demonstrates knowledge of a few notions, acquired superficially, many gaps, sufficient expressive skills to support a coherent dialogue but of modest quality; elementary logical skills and consequentiality in the connection of the arguments, with a poor capacity for synthesis and graphic expression; poor interaction with the teacher.
b) Fair (21 to 23)
The candidate demonstrates a fair acquisition of notions with few gaps but little depth; expressive skills more than sufficient to support a coherent dialogue with a good command of scientific language; logical skills and consequentiality in the connection of topics of moderate complexity; more than sufficient capacity for synthesis and graphic expression.
c) Good (from 24 to 26)
The candidate demonstrates a rather broad knowledge base with small gaps, moderate in-depth study; satisfactory expressive skills and significant command of scientific language; dialogical ability and critical spirit present; good synthesis skills, and more than acceptable graphic expression skills.
d) Excellent (from 27 to 29)
The candidate demonstrates a very extensive knowledge base with marginal gaps, good in-depth study; remarkable expressive skills and a high command of scientific language; remarkable dialogic ability, good competence and relevant aptitude for logical synthesis; a high capacity for synthesis and graphic expression.
e) Excellent (30)
The candidate demonstrates a very extensive and in-depth knowledge base, any irrelevant gaps; high expressive skills and high command of scientific language; excellent dialogue skills, aptitude to make connections between different topics; excellent ability of synthesis and graphic expression.
"30/30 cum laude" are attributed to candidates clearly above the average, and whose possible notional, expressive, conceptual or logical limits are, on the whole, completely irrelevant.

Registration for exams will be done by accessing the University website.
Students who have attended no less than 70% of the total number of lectures and no less than 50% of each module and have attended all the hours scheduled for the professional activity will be able to take the exam.
The slides can be requested at the end of the course to each individual teacher
